Are you strong mind?
My 7+ year old daughter was a picky eater.
When she was 1.5 years, she had a breathing problem in winter.
Doctor prescribed her Salbutamol inhaler, most of the time GP was referring she may be Asthematic.
I started observing keenly. started all hurb Kaddha in winter or during her cough.
We observed that dairy product & sudden climate change was a trigger point for her.
We had to give inhaler initially as breathlessness must be treated immediately. but I always tried to make her strong within. wanted to cure her through her diet and breathing exercises.
But she is a child. how can i convince her for what food is good for her and what not?
Never mind, started from herb, discussed it's important for body, it's natural medicinal property.
She started taking interest with affirmative sentences for health care and gradually now she is fine.
since 2 years i didn't gave her inhaler. just right diet, breathing exercises and herbs works for her.
I remind her, we should eat according to body need, not according to taste you feel good.
I remind and discuss: if feeling cough, season change, your body demands more turmeric, tulsi, mint, ginger, herb, salad, fruits rich in vitamin C, hot soup etc. so have it. Be strong mind. eat according to body need. even her little effort to overcome her taste weakness, I appreciate her.
At least once in a month or few months , I am making habit of eating bitter guard.

She argue and stay strong for not to eat initially food which she don't like.
I just remind, I feel you are a strong mind girl. I know you will do what is right for your body. I know you care for your health. You will have super power if you eat healthy food.
I know you will do right things. etc, it works to shape her mind, to overcome her weakness for taste.
she renounce chocolates when her body need attention.
she even renounce fried food including her favorite chips when she knows she is feeling cough.
She convince and i help her to accept the challenge and eat right food.
It works wonder. Gradually she knows everything works.
I haven't had any flu jab. Ayurveda works wonder for kids and for family.
How to communicate:
Say such affirmative sentences with eye contact with full of love and confidence within yourself. discuss something interesting in between just to make her feel good. discuss her favorite stuff during conversation when kids are arguing.
Sometimes I narrate ancient wisdom and fasting practices stories.
Challenge them for Super power:
Are you strong mind? Do you eat according to body need or you follow taste temptation?'
Sometimes I eat turmeric, bitter guard in front of her and challenge her, can you? I know you can.
Parents are powerful....their inner strength reach to kids, the only concern is we need lot of patience. force or fear can help temporarily.
Our goal is long term solution.
I never feed them forcefully. I never fear them to eat. sometimes they skip their meal, I accept it as natures way of healing their body. i just keep them hydrated.
When they feel healed they feel hungry and eat well. such technique works wonder.
let them eat with happy mood.
let them eat when they feel hungry.
let them understand and enjoy their food.
